It's becoming increasingly popular for cars to be manufactured with smaller, turbocharged engines which manage to produce staggering miles per gallon figures. Because we are now used to big cars coming with engines which used to be no smaller than a 2.0 (a lot of the time bigger) it can sometimes be difficult to become accustomed to a large car with a small engine.
The owner of this Nissan X-Trail with the 1.6 DCI engine decided the car could benefit from an ECU remap to improve drivability all round. Stock, this engine is claimed to produce 130 bhp and 320 nm with this particular vehicle making 134 bhp and 334 nm of torque, so a brilliant starting point.
With our CustomPro software installed power is now brought in much earlier! When standard the car would produce peak power at 4,200 rpm but now makes the same amount of power at 2,700 rpm!
Power gained: 25 bhp @ 3,800 rpm
Torqye gained: 36 nm
