The 1.6 common rail diesel engines tune brilliantly. We offer two stages of remapping on these cars, our Stage 1 software and our CustomPro software.
A lot of people ask us what the difference is between the two options. Both options are written in house by using using our four wheel drive rolling road. The Stage 1 software is designed and calibrated to improve drivability with a modest power increase, whilst focusing on increasing fuel economy. With our CustomPro software, you get all of this, whilst we then re-calibrate and re-work the software ro achieve higher power and torque figures. It really depends on the type of vehicle and what you want from the vehicle as to which software option is best for you.
In the case of this Volkswagen Caddy, the owner opted for our Stage 1 software. The van is in daily use and is used as a works van. For this reason, we achieved a modest power increase which hugely improves the way the van drives, but focused mainly on fuel economy. As you can see below on the graph, power and torque are much stronger throughout the rev range, particularly in the high rpm.
Power gained: 58 bhp
Torque gained: 60 ftlb @ 4,000 rpm
